He Betrayed the Mother of His Child
"I'm carrying your child. You couldn't even carry a secret."
Callie Renshaw catches the whole county's babies. She runs the only birthing clinic for a hundred miles, and she is the woman everyone leans on and nobody thinks to ask about — which is exactly why no one saw how alone she'd become inside her own life. Then, four months pregnant, she found out where her man had been going.
Beau "Tannen" Marchetti is the Copper Wake club's Road Captain, and the son of a father who ran. He was so certain he'd become that man — that he'd leave first — that he blew up his family before it could exist, and gave a stranger the inside of himself he was too afraid to give the woman having his baby. He didn't fall into the affair. He aimed for the rocks.
Now Callie has barred him from the pregnancy — the appointments, the clinic, the room — and she means it. If Beau wants any part of his daughter's life, he can't buy it or ride in loud and claim it. He has to prove, one un-thanked day at a time, that this time he stays — even when staying costs him the rocker on his back and the only brotherhood he's ever had.
He Betrayed the Mother of His Child is an angsty, grounded MC second-chance romance about the loneliest kind of betrayal, a midwife who finally lets herself be the one who's carried, and a man who has to give up everything he ran toward to be the hands that are there when his daughter arrives. Emotional and character-driven, with a hard-won happily-ever-after.
