Sample Book Insights:
#1 I was on a slope about two hours away from Wakayama Point in 1974, waiting for the time to pass. I had met and talked with Norio Suzuki two weeks before, and he had left a message for me to meet him there again. I was still afraid it might be a trap.
#2 When I met with Major Taniguchi, he gave me a pack of cigarettes with the chrysanthemum crest of the emperor on them. I accepted it and fell back two or three paces, waiting for his next move. The major simply looked back stiffly.
#3 I gave a detailed field report of my reconnaissance and military activity during thirty years on Lubang. I had to go over in my mind all the events that had brought me to this tent.
