Nine years ago Cal Rourke married another woman four months after Kate Brennan told him she loved him. She left Bell Harbor and never looked back.
Now her father is dead, the will names Cal executor, and Kate is clearing out the house she grew up in. Sorting the tide logbooks, she finds Cal's handwriting in two years of entries she was never supposed to see.
He was learning her father. He was learning the boat. He was building a life he could offer her - and then he got scared and picked the wrong door.
