Cela débute par un fric frac, le Prof et l'Anguille s'introduisent dans un hôtel particulier, pour y voler un document de grosse valeur. D'après leurs renseignements, la locataire, une vieille qui tire ses ressources de l'exploitation des charmes de quelques femmes aux moeurs faciles, doit être absente. Mais, dans la place, les deux « casseurs » constatent que tout ne marche pas comme sur des roulettes, d'abord l'hôtel a déjà été visité, ensuite la vieille est là, et un peu là... Alors commence, pour le lecteur, une aventure palpitante, qui se déroule tour à tour à Montmartre et en province. Dans cette chasse au trésor, où tous les moyens sont bons, des femmes se trouvent mêlées à l'action et apportent, en plus de leur sensualité, un élément important dans le dénouement de cette affaire dramatique qui n'exclut par l'humour. L'auteur, en des phrases imagées et vivantes, a su donner à ce roman le style noir qui lui convenait, et nous sommes sûrs que vous lui accorderez vos préférences.
